My essay writing skills are non-existent. I can debate and write speeches and Im good at anything verbal, but I cant write an essay to save my life. I dont understant pharagraphing or structure and I cant write anything without sounding "chatty".
I think you are being a little harsh on yourself Kalin - you do write well - you paragraph and punctuate.
I think your chatty style is something that you can work on - there is room for personal response however, in fact examiners like to see personal response and connection with the text.
